Below is an up-to-date list of the functionality updates to the Sensat platform in 2026, including both new features and improvements.
July 2026
Location tracking on mobile devices
If you open a workspace from a tablet or mobile device (through the full version rather than the mobile app) you will now see a dot showing your location on the screen. You can switch it off, or centre yourself by clicking the location button on the toolbar.
Mobile App: Commenting
We've added commenting to the mobile field app to help site teams stay connected. On top of taking & uploading geolocated photo markups, you can also now:
Navigate project folders: You can now open the content page on your mobile device to browse your project's folders, upload directly, and view existing content details on the go.
Access a dedicated comments inbox: Tap the new Comments option on your bottom navigation bar to see a centralised list of every thread you're a part of. Unread messages are marked with a red dot, or use the "Unread" tab to quickly catch up.
Update content details and tag members: Open any piece of content to view details, update fields, and add comments. Use "@" to tag a team member or group from the field.
June 2026
Snapshot
The new, upgraded, Snapshot tool turns any view of your project — 2D or 3D, including point cloud, CAD, and markups — into a polished, photorealistic image using AI, without leaving the platform. Choose from preset options, optionally set the environment, iterate changes with a brush, and save the result straight to your workspace (or download it to your desktop).
Mobile App
We now have a companion mobile app. It allows users to take photos directly from their phone onsite, or upload them from their camera roll and create geolocated photo markups.
May 2026
‘Can Interact’ Permission Level
A new folder-level permission, Can Interact, has been introduced. This permission allows users to view, download, and export content and data without the ability to make edits.
Scale 3D models
You can now resize 3D models in Sensat using intuitive visual handles or by entering exact mathematical dimensions for total precision.
MARCH 2026
Shareable links for presentations & frames
You can now copy a shareable link to a presentation or an individual frame, making it easier to collaborate with your project team.
Dynamic Workspaces
Workspaces now support linked folders, automatically including any files added to them.
New Basemap styles
Customise your 2D Basemap with newly available styles.
FEBRUARY 2026
Fly to time period
To quickly view a layer with Timeline dates outside your current period, click the clock icon next to it. The Timeline will automatically move to the layer’s start date so you can view it.
JANUARY 2026
Reposition photomarkups
Description
Photomarkups can now be manually repositioned in both 2D and 3D. This is especially useful when a phone’s GPS is off - allowing you to quickly place the photo where it belongs.
