Toolbar button states
When you open the The location button on your toolbar changes appearance based on its current status. There are four possible states:
1. Location active and centred
Behaviour: The map displays your location dot and automatically centres the view on your position. The map will move with you as you travel.
To activate: This is the default state when you open a workspace on your mobile or tablet device. You can also tap the location button when in the un-centred state (see below) to re-centre yourself to your current location.
2. Location active and un-centred
Behaviour: Your location dot remains visible on the map, but the map view is no longer locked to your position.
Trigger: This state occurs automatically if you manually pan or swipe away from your location while tracking is active.
To re-centre: Tap the location button again to snap the camera back to your current position.
3. Location Off
Behaviour: Location tracking is deactivated, and the blue dot is not displayed on the map.
Trigger: to switch the location off, press the button on the toolbar - once if un-centred, twice if centred.
4. Location Disabled
Behaviour: The location button is greyed out and unavailable.
Causes: This occurs if you enter a 3D environment, if your device loses GPS signal, or if location permissions are denied in your device settings.
Troubleshooting
Why is the location button greyed out?
You are in a 3D environment: The feature automatically disables in 3D views. Return to the standard map view to re-enable it.
Permissions are disabled: Ensure that your mobile or tablet device has granted location/GPS permissions to the app. Learn more.
No signal: Ensure your device has an active GPS or internet connection.
Why is the location button not available?
You are not on a mobile or tablet device: The feature is only available on mobile devices, not laptop computers.
