Overview

The AI Snapshot tool lets you capture and save enhanced images of your projects using AI. You can create upscaled, polished, or stylised versions of your snapshots by entering descriptive prompts. This helps you visualise ideas, share progress, or refine project visuals rapidly.

Permissions

Only users with the roles Project Member+, Admin, or Super Admin can access the AI Snapshot tool. Learn more about project roles here.

How to use the AI-Snapshot tool

  1. Click the arrow in the toolbar at the bottom of the Workspace screen.

  2. Select AI Snapshot from the menu.

  3. Enter your prompt - type a description or instruction to enhance your snapshot.

  4. Click Generate to create a new image.

  5. Create a new image or save your image

    • Click Regenerate to try a new variation.

    • Click Save to keep the current image.

Tips and Tricks and Prompt Templates

1. Camera angle and composition

Camera position heavily affects AI Snapshot results:

  • Bird’s-eye or zoomed-out views give the AI less visual context. Large empty areas (like black space) can cause excessive or unintended generation, such as skylines that don’t exist.

  • Prompts designed for closer perspectives may not work well from extreme angles.

💡 Tips:

  • If using a bird’s-eye view, remove “generate skyline” from your prompt.

  • Keeping the camera closer to the subject or at a more natural angle produces more accurate, realistic results.

2. Getting the best results

Follow these additional guidelines to improve output quality:

  • Frame your shot carefully: Keep the main subject centered.

  • Use clear markups: Indicate precisely where changes should occur in the image.

  • Refine prompts thoughtfully: Small adjustments to wording or detail can improve results.

3. Prompt templates

Once you’ve set up your camera and followed best practices for framing and scene composition, you can start using prompt templates to generate or modify features in your scene.

These templates are designed to be flexible and easy to customise. Simply copy them into the AI Snapshot prompt text box and replace the highlighted sections with your own details - such as time of day, weather, feature type, or object placement.

Generic prompt

The prompt:

Infill all gaps in this image and upsample. Make this point cloud look as realistic as possible as if it was a photograph taken by a 4K drone in real life.

Generate a skyline consistent with the foreground and make it look like a sunny day with a few clouds.

Customise the prompt

sunny day with a few clouds → Replace with your desired weather/time of day.

Examples

Original Snapshot of point cloud (No AI)

Original Snapshot of point cloud, using no AI.

Using exact prompt above.

Using the prompt above, but changing weather to “rainy day”.

Using the prompt above, but changing weather to “snowy day”.

Feature generation using Markups prompt

The prompt:

Infill all gaps in this image and upsample. Make this point cloud look as realistic as possible as if it was a photograph taken by a 4K drone in real life.

Generate a skyline consistent with the foreground and make it look like a sunny day with a few clouds.

Place a new office building exactly where the blue zone area is.

Customise the prompt

sunny day with a few clouds → Replace with your desired weather/time of day.

new office building → Replace with the feature(s) to generate, using markups to specify placement.

Examples

Original Snapshot of point cloud, using no AI.

Using exact prompt above.

Using prompt above, but changing weather/time of day to “frosty at night”.

Original Snapshot, including a line markup and using no AI.

Using prompt above, replacing "Place a new office building exactly where the blue zone area is" with "Place a trench showing a gas pipe along the blue line".

Feature removal using Markups prompt

The prompt:

Infill all gaps in this image and upsample. Make this point cloud look as realistic as possible as if it was a photograph taken by a 4K drone in real life.

Generate a skyline consistent with the foreground and make it look like a sunny day with a few clouds.

Remove the traffic cones inside the blue zone only and then remove the blue zone and markup.

Customise the prompt

sunny day with a few clouds → Replace with your desired weather/time of day.

traffic cones → Replace with the feature(s) to remove, using markups to specify placement.

Examples

Original Snapshot of point cloud, using no AI.

Using exact prompt above.

Scenario simulation prompt

The prompt:

Infill all gaps in this image and upsample. Make this point cloud look as realistic as possible as if it was a photograph taken by a 4K drone in real life.

Generate a skyline consistent with the foreground and make it look like a rainy day.

Make it look like there has been a flood.

Customise the prompt

rainy day → Replace with your desired weather/time of day.

there has been a flood → Replace with the scenario you want to simulate

Examples

Original Snapshot of point cloud, using no AI.

Using exact prompt above.
