APRIL 2024

Remember your previous position

Release date: Apr 25, 2024

Description

The platform now remembers your camera position and chosen environment at the end of your session or after a refresh. When you return these settings are restored. Previously, you always returned to the default "god view" in the 3D environment.

Performance setting update

Release date: Apr 22, 2024

Description

The "Rendering Quality vs Performance" slider has been improved so that alongside determining how much data is rendered in your scene, it now also determines how much data is stored in your browser (RAM). This improvement benefits users who have low-RAM machines (below 8GB).

WebWorker for performance boost

Release date: Apr 22, 2024

Description

A performance boost achieved by moving the more resource-intensive parts of frame rendering to a WebWorker. The WebWorker operates concurrently with the rest of the render code, ensuring that user inputs are not blocked, which can otherwise be experienced as lag. This results in a smoother navigation experience, especially for users with lower-end machines.

A-Z default panel order

Release date: Apr 9, 2024

Description

The default sort order for the Layer Manager is now A-Z (rather than "by Date") to reflect how most projects choose to organise their data.

Release date: Apr 5, 2024

Description

  • Users can now upload their own icons and assign them to markups, expanding beyond our standard four icons.

  • Icons can be uploaded in PNG, JPEG, SVG, or ICO formats.

  • Once uploaded via project settings, custom icons become available for all project members to use on their markups.

Description

Introducing the ability to reposition any 3D mesh model inย  both translation and rotation (supported file types are: .dwg, .ifc, .dgn, .glb, .rvt, .nwd, .fbx, .glb); and the ability to adjust the elevation of .dxf files in the 3D environment.ย

Independent deployments

Release date: Mar 27, 2024

Release date: Mar 25, 2024

Description

The introduction of Web Map Services and Web Map Tile Services allow you to stream georeferenced images from other systems such as ArcGIS Enterprise, GeoServer and MapServer into Sensat where they will be visualised in the 2D environment.

RTE (Relative To Eye) rendering

Release date: Mar 21, 2024

Description

Removing the connection between our renderer and the project bounding box enables us to render projects of any scale, at any location, no matter how far it is from the CRS origin. Instead, the camera (or eye) now acts as the origin.

HTML Viewer for KML/GeoJSON attributes window

Release date: Mar 19, 2024

Description

A HTML viewer has been included in the KML/GeoJSON inspector window for improved formatting.

Mesh Quantisation

Release date: Mar 18, 2024

Description

Previously, when a model was located very far from the origin of its CRS it could appear 'jittery' in our platform. This issue was noticed in projects in the Australia region where extremely large CRSs are common. The changes made here to how we handle mesh quantisation address this issue so that models appear clear, smooth and as expected regardless of distance from the CRS origin.

New markup colours

Release date: Mar 18, 2024

Description

There are now 21 colours available for markups, increased from seven. Colours have also been separated from icons, so the colour displays in the background and the icon remains as its set colour.

  • Markups can be moved: in translation exactly along the X,Y or Z axis; or freely within the XY plane (with the z-axis locked).

  • Markups can be rotated: in the XY, XZ or YZ planes.

Release date: Jan 29, 2024
