A glossary of commonly used terms in Sensat, listed A–Z:

The Content page is where all project data (content) is stored, managed, and organised. Its purpose is to organise project data and apply access controls, rather than to visualise the data. You can upload, stream, sync, or mark up project data within Sensat.
Content-level permissions determine what data users can see and how they can interact with content within a project. These permissions are applied at the folder level in the Content page and affect the both visibility and access of data within Content and within Workspaces.
There are three content permission levels:

The "Default view" is the initial view everyone sees when they first enter the Workspace. It includes the camera position and layer visibility settings, determining which layers and markups are turned on or off.
A Frame is like an "active screenshot" within Sensat. When you create a Frame it saves your current camera angle, layer and markup visibility settings and Timeline settings (if applicable), i.e. it saves exactly what is showing in your scene at the time of capture.
Multiple Frames can be combined to create a Presentation.
When viewing a Frame, you can still navigate and interact with your scene as normal.
Markups can be used to either take measurements or mark up areas of interest on your project.
They only exist within the workspace they are created in, unless you choose to publish them to Content.
Photomarkups are geolocated photos - images that contain location metadata. When you upload these photos to Sensat, they’re automatically recognised as photomarkups and can be visualised on the map in their real-world locations.
A Presentation is a collection of interactive Frames that lets you guide others through your project, similar to slides in a slideshow.
When you enter "Presentation mode", all toolbars are hidden for a clean, distraction-free view. However, you can still navigate, click on layers to inspect them, hover over markups, and open attachments for more details
Project settings | Project settings are applied at the project level and affect all users (e.g., project name, coordinate reference system). |
Project roles are assigned to individual users at the project level and determine what actions they can take within that specific project, for example, who can manage project members.
The Scene manager is primarily used to control the visibility settings within your workspace scene, for example, toggling layer visibility or adjusting their opacity. Every layer and markup in your workspace is listed in the Scene Manager, giving you full control over what’s shown.
Scene Manager Groups | Groups can be created in the Scene manager to organise related layers and quickly manage their visibility.
|
The snapshot tool lets you capture high-resolution, distraction-free screenshots of your project by automatically hiding all menu bars. It's perfect for presentations, meetings, and collaboration.
The Timeline feature enables you to manage, visualise, and plan project data with time-specific views for surveys, markups, and models, supporting effective 4D planning
User groups are created and managed from the 'Members' page, e.g., allowing you to organise users into teams.
These groups can be used to streamline content access permissions and make collaboration easier, for example, by tagging entire groups in comments or assigning group-based access to specific content.
User Settings | User settings only apply to individual users and are applicable across all projects they are a member of in (e.g., name, job title, units, date format preference). |
A Workspace is a secure, collaborative environment where teams can work together using a curated selection of layers, chosen from Content.
In a Workspace, you can view your project data, as well as perform tasks such as taking measurements, planning works and exploring different options.
Workspace-level permissions define what users can do within a workspace, such as setting the default view or creating markups.
There are three workspace roles:
