There are a few ways to add Content to your Sensat project, you can upload, stream, sync to Sensat - each are described below. Once added, Content will adopt the access permissions of its parent folder.

Note: You can only add content to folders where you have at least 'Can Edit' access. Learn more about data access rights and how to check your permission level here.

Manual uploads

Before uploading, check out our Must Dos to ensure a smooth upload process.

  1. Open the Content page

  2. Open the folder you want to upload data to

  3. Click the "Add Content" button in the top right corner

  4. You can drag data directly from your desktop to the modal or click "Add files"

    1. You can select as many files as you like to upload in one go

  5. Click "Continue" - your files will appear in the folder list and will begin to process

  6. Once your file has been processed you will receive an email notification and the file will be available for selection in your Workspace

WMS / WMTS Connections

  1. Open the Content page

  2. Open the folder you want to upload data to

  3. Click the "Add Content" button in the top right corner

  4. Select the "From external service" tab

  5. Select the "Type" of service that you want to connect to (WMS or WMTS)

  6. Select your "Auth type" based on your service's security measures. The options are:

    1. None (i.e. unsecured)

    2. Username and Password

    3. Token

Connecting unsecured services (Auth Type = None)

  1. Paste your WMS/WMTS URl into the URl text box.

    • We’ll check on our side if we can support the service.

      • If the service isn’t supported an error message will appear.

      • If the service is supported a new dropdown with all the layer and style options available will appear.

  2. Choose a layer.

  3. Choose a style (if options are available).

  4. Click "Connect".

  5. Your layer will be added to Content in your chosen folder.

Connecting secured services (Auth Type = Token)

  1. Once you select "Auth Type = Token" two new input boxes will appear:

    1. Token key

    2. Token

You should be able to get this information from your WMS/WMTS source, but it's also possible to parse it from the WMS/WMTS URl (see example below). If you are struggling to identify the token key and token from the URl, please reach out to our support team and we can assist.

Note: the key name will vary depending on the service (i.e. it won't always be 'key').

  2. Paste your WMS/WMTS URl into the URl text box.

  3. Choose a layer.

  4. Choose a style (if options are available).

  5. Click on Connect.

  6. Your layer will be added to Content in your chosen folder.

Connecting secured services (Auth Type = Username and Password)

  1. Once you select "Auth Type = Username and Password" four new input boxes will appear:

    1. Username key

    2. Username

    3. Password Key

    4. Password

You should be able to get this information from your WMS/WMTS source, but it's also possible to parse it from the WMS/WMTS URl (see example below). If you are struggling to identify the token key and token from the URl, please reach out to our support team and we can assist.

Note: the key names will vary depending on the service (i.e. they won't always be 'user' or 'pwd').

  2. Paste your WMS/WMTS URl into the URl text box.

  3. Choose a layer.

  4. Choose a style (if options are available).

  5. Click on Connect.

  6. Your layer will be added to Content in your chosen folder

Common Data Environment (CDE) Syncs

An administrator needs to enable the integration and configure which folders to sync to Sensat. Once the sync is configured, every hour any changes made to files in your configured folders will sync into Sensat. This includes new files, revisions, changes to any file attributes, and deletions.

The following file types will be automatically synchronised: .dgn, .dwg, .glb, .ifc .dxf, .rvt, .fbx, .nwd. If other files are present in the search results they will not be visible in Sensat.

Once files have been synchronised to Sensat they will be displayed as a folder in Content. The files can then be accessed and visualised in a Workspace, the same way as manually uploaded files.

Note: You cannot manage the access of synced folders, they will be available for all project members.
