The Oracle Aconex integration allows you to connect your Common Data Environment to Sensat to automatically access files so they can be visualised together seamlessly with all your other project data. This allows you to maintain a single source of truth in Aconex and have confidence that content visualised in Sensat is always up-to-date, covers all disciplines, and retains its metadata.

How it works

An administrator must first enable the integration and configure which files to sync from Aconex to Sensat.

Changes made to files in Aconex will sync to Sensat every hour. This includes new files, revisions, changes to file attributes, and deletions.

The following file types will be automatically synchronised: .dgn, .dwg, .glb, .ifc .dxf, .rvt, .fbx, .nwd. If other files are present in the search results they will not be visible in Sensat.

Once files have been synchronised to Sensat they can be visualised in the same way as manually uploaded files.

Set-up and configuration

Please contact your Customer Success representative who will guide you through enabling the Sensat integration and configuring which files you want to sync between Aconex and Sensat.

  1. One set of search criteria can be mapped to one Sensat folder. e.g.

    • Type = ‘Drawing’ AND Discipline = “Electrical” AND Status = “Approved”

  2. Search criteria can be set up in any specified folder structure within Sensat.

  3. A Sensat project can have multiple folders synced from different Aconex projects & organisations.

  4. All attributes present on the files will be synchronised and visible in Sensat.

What you will see

  1. Synced folders will be displayed in Content. They can be identified by the "sync" icon

  2. You can click on synced files to view their attributes

    • Mandatory fields in Aconex will always be shown (e.g. "Date Modified", "Type", "Version").

    • Other attributes will only be shown if they are populated in Aconex.

  3. To add a synced file to your workspace follow the usual add content flow. Learn how here.

Permissions

  1. Click "Manage access" on a synced folder to update who can access the files in Sensat

Note: only users with "Full access" or the "Super admin" role can update permissions on synced folders

  2. Select users or groups who should have access to the folder

  3. Click done to update the folder permission
