What is the Height profile tool?

The Height profile tool enables you to measure a profile or cross-section of the pointcloud in the 3D environment.

How to use the Height profile tool

  1. Select the Height profile icon in the left-hand toolbar.

Select the height profile tool from the right hand navigation panel

  2. Navigate to the area of your project that you want to measure. Tip: allow the pointcloud to fully load in the area that you are measuring to maximise accuracy.

  3. Single-click to select the first point in the height profile.

  4. Move the cursor and single click again to create your second point and the first part of your line. If you want to create a multi-point line (polyline) repeat this action until you are done.

  5. Double-click (or press enter) to create the final point and finish the height profile markup.

  6. The distance and maximum elevation will be saved as a post in the Layer manager.

  7. The XYZ coordinates of the height profile can be downloaded as .CSV file by clicking on the "Download file (.CSV)" link below the graph:

  8. After you have created your markups, there are a variety of different ways you can edit them, you can:

*these actions are only available for markups you created, learn more about permissions here.
