This video walks you through how to effectively navigate a workspace. It covers essential controls like zooming, panning, and switching to first-person mode, along with keyboard shortcuts that make movement easier. It also explains how to recentre your view if you get lost.

Basic navigation

  1. To navigate in a workspace, you can left-click and drag yourself around the environment.

  2. To zoom in and out, you can use the scroll wheel, trackpad, double click or the + and - keys.

  3. To pan your camera around, hold down the shift key on your keyboard and then left-click to tilt or rotate your view.

  4. If you get lost at any point, you can use the "recentre" option by opening the arrow menu on the toolbar and clicking "Recentre. This will take you back to the default camera angle and position.

First-person view (look-around mode)

  1. To look around in first-person mode, select the first-person perspective button on the toolbar or use the keyboard shortcut C.

  2. Zoom will work in exactly the same way as normal.

  3. Using left-click and drag will move you around as if on the spot.

  4. You can also use the W-A-S-D keyboard shortcuts to navigate at a fixed height and move forward or backwards.

  5. The R key will move you up, and the F key moves down at a fixed point.
