Setting up Single Sign-On (SSO)

You can set up SSO in Sensat to make logging in easier and more secure. SSO can be enabled even if users have already been added to your project.

Once your domain is set up, all users with that domain will be directed through your SSO provider (e.g., Microsoft Azure AD) instead of the standard Sensat login/signup flow. They will use their SSO credentials to sign in.

Setup process

1. Customer request

To begin, let your Customer Success Manager know you’d like to enable SSO. Please specify the email domain(s) you want included.

2. Sensat generates a setup link

After receiving your request, Sensat will log a ticket and generate a unique self-service setup link for your IT team. It will look like this:

https://login.sensat.world/self-service/connections-flow?ticket=<id here>

3. Customer configuration

Your IT or Information Security (IS) team will need to complete the form at the provided link. This process typically takes 30mins.

The information required includes:

  • Identity Provider (IdP) details (e.g., Azure AD, Okta, etc.)

  • Metadata file or URL

  • Signing certificate

Note: If you want to enable IdP-initiated login, this requires setting up a SAML SSO connection specifically.

4. Final steps

Once your IT/IS team completes the configuration, please notify Sensat. We’ll perform the final setup on our end and activate your SSO connection.

This step is typically completed the same day, depending on engineering availability.

FAQ's

Will existing users need to be re-added to projects?
No. All users who have already been invited to a project will retain access. The only change is that they will now log in via the SSO page.

If I remove a user from my IdP, will they be logged out of Sensat automatically?
Not immediately. Currently, users are only logged out automatically after being inactive for a set period.

Can SSO users create a separate account in Sensat?
No. If a user belongs to a specified SSO domain, they can only log in via the SSO page.

Can I set up SSO myself from within Sensat?
Not at this time. Please contact Sensat directly to set up the connection.

Can I use multiple domains with SSO on one project?
Yes. Multiple domains are supported, but you’ll need to complete the setup steps for each domain.

Is SSO free?
Yes, SSO is currently free for all customers.

Do customers need to do any development work?
No. Sensat handles the technical setup. All that’s required is completing the self-service form.

Does SSO work with MFA?
When SSO is enabled, it supersedes MFA.
